Customer's Concerns
Customer needed a database with row-level and record-level encryption. The customer choose Interbase.
Customer needed a multi-user file-server database, where there may be updates from remote users via 4G.
Actions Performed
- After initial proposal, the application was upgraded from Clarion Top-Speed Database.
- Delphi x64 bit application was developed.
- Delphi Android app developed later on.
Pain Points
- Clarion TPS to Interbase conversion. All data needed to be imported. Clarion TPS tables. Names such as José has to be correctly encoded to Unicode.
- Reports upgrading from Clarion to Fast-Reports, so customers can edit and modify the database as they choose, without developer intervention.
- Ability to update data over-the-wire from mobile devices to cloud.
